I have been remiss in my postings by not talking about the new Batman movie "Dark Knight". This was a much better movie than the first re-imagining of the Batman saga "Batman Begins".
I love the more realistic view of Gotham City... however a lot of the dialogue was forced and the gravely growling voice and wooden acting of Christian Bale detracted from the overall impact of the movie.
But don't despair! The phenomenal portrayal of the Joker by the late Heath Ledger made up for any shortcomings the movie may have had.
I give this one an 8 out of 10 and recommend it to any comic book or sci-fi movie fan.

Took a jaunt to the theater and watched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. I'm a fan of the mummy franchise, I like the character Brendon Fraiser plays, but the writing was kind of lack luster in this one, so he didn't have much to work with.
This installment was lacking a little, don't get me wrong, it was still a fun ride... but it didn't pack the punch of the original. I would rank it on par with the Mummy 2.
The special effects in some cases were lacking but a few were quite convincing. I'd give this one an overall 6-10. If you are looking to be entertained, this movie can do it for you.

I was looking forward to seeing Hellboy II after the success of the original Hellboy movie I was hoping they would be able to improve and expand the story.
But it wasn't to be. I just hit the theater yesterday and anxiously waited for the silver screen action to start.
I was a bit disappointed tho... it wound up not being as good as the first installment of the saga and some of the acting and action just seemed... well, forced.
Don't get me wrong, it is still an entertaining movie, it just didn't live up to the first. I still recommend that you see it if you enjoyed the original story.
